The shortest distance paddock to plate.
Most of the food on supermarket shelves passes through five or six pairs of hands before it gets to yours. The honey we list comes from the bees in the orchard you can see on the website. The salami was made yesterday by the same family that raised the pigs. There's a real difference between food that's been packed and shipped and food that's been hand-labelled and posted by the producer themselves — and once you've eaten the second kind, the first one starts to taste a bit thin.
Every food producer on Ag Scoop is someone we've spoken to and tasted. We don't list anything we wouldn't put in our own pantry. If a producer can't tell us where the ingredients came from, they don't go on the site. That's the whole pitch.
